Our Rome City town council members carry out a variety of functions, such as adopting the city budget & ordinances, approving contracts and agreements and establishing the strategic plans and policies that guide the town. Governed by a three (3) member council that meets every 2nd Monday of the month at 6:30 pm.

The Street Department provides maintenance of the city streets, alleys, sidewalks, curbs and street sweeping. The department handles leaf pick up as well as snow and ice removal.

Rome City residents' recycling bins are located at 120 Kerr Avenue - right across from the town's composting bins for yard waste.   

No fees. Recycle paper, plastic, glass and cardboard only.

Rome City Elementary School "Romans," located at 400 Jefferson St., provides classes for students from the kindergarten through 5th grade. The school is a part of East Noble School Corp. High school students attend East Noble High School in Kendallville, Indiana.

The Nicholas Scott Hartge Post Office was renamed in 2012 for a former Rome City resident and East Noble graduate killed in Iraq Conflict, May 2007.  


The post office is located at 125 Kerr Ave. and can be reached at (260) 854-3700. Post Office Lobby open 24/hrs daily.
