Marshal Paul Hoffman, 25 Years Experience
Paul graduated from Heritage High School in Monroeville then graduated from Vincennes University. He started his career with the IN Dept of Corrections working with juveniles for 17 years. He then joined Rome City's police force as a Reserve officer in 1994. Upon successfully graduating from Marshal school in 1997, he was hired as a part-time officer. In 2010 Paul was hired as full-time Deputy and in 2020 he became the Marshal of Rome City. Paul and his wife Renisea and family have lived in Town of Rome City for 10 years.
Deputy Marshal Dustin Fike
Dustin attended East Noble High School. He started with Waterloo Police Department as a Reserve officer for 3 years before coming to Rome City as a Reserve officer for 10 years. In 2020, Dustin accepted the position as Deputy Marshal.
Dustin and his family reside in Kendallville.

In order to better serve our residents, the Rome City Marshals Office is making available a scheduled day for VIN / HIN inspections and golf cart inspections. Beginning Friday, May 7th residents will be able to schedule VIN checks every Friday between the hours of 9am and 4pm. VIN / HIN inspections require a fee of $5.00 that must be paid prior to the inspection at the Rome City Town Hall. Golf Cart Inspections requires a fee of $40 to be paid prior to the inspection at Town Hall. Inspections can occur at other times if needed, but the fees must be paid prior.
Note: Watercraft must be on land in order to be inspected.
$1000 REWARD: Help Catch a Thief, Vandals. See Surveillance Video. On November 20th and 21st Our Lady Mother of Mercy Center in Rome City, IN was broken into and vandalized. A $1,000 dollar reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of these three individuals captured in surveillance video. Notice: Language/ audio may be offensive.
Golf carts are allowed on streets. Rome City is a golf cart-friendly community.
UTV’S, ATV’S, AND SIDE BY SIDE OFF ROAD VEHICLES ARE NOT ALLOWED ON TOWN STREETS. THIS IS A VIOLATION OF INDIANA CODE.

2021 Civilian Firearms Safety Program
Gun safety program is available to anyone 18 yrs. of age or older regardless of your address on a first come first serve basis. Cost is limited to a free will donation. Program details are on registration form.
