The town of Rome City, Indiana is a tourist attraction nestled perfectly in northeast Indiana, Noble County and Orange township. Our small town offers beautiful views and homes for over of 1600 residents on and around Sylvan Lake and attracts visitors year round to our many tourist attractions.
Sylvan Lake Indiana is a SKI LAKE, an all-season lake with a wonderful public access and boat launch site,
16-miles of beautiful shoreline, great fishing, and our famous "Big Island" complete with scenic island nature trails and a public island boat dock.
The town of Rome City and Sylvan Lake hosts the second home to renowned author and nature photographer, Gene Stratton-Porter. Take a tour of the beautiful 150-acres state museum and historic site featuring formal gardens, woods, an abundance of nature, and Gene Stratton-Porter's restored lakefront cabin on Sylvan Lake.
